How to reduce child mortality in West Africa?
Posted on 22 March 2008 by John Coster
West Africa shows no progress on achieving MDG to reduce child mortality by two thirds by 2015. Working on prevention efforts at the community level, strengthening health systems and lobbying with donors can solve this problem.

Due to poor management of health systems, poverty, malnutrition and conflicts, most of West and Central Africa countries can not reduce the child mortality rate. These factors are also combined with a lack of access to skilled medical staff.
Action for Global Health is a cross-Europe network of NGOs and charities, calling for Europe to act now to enable developing countries to achieve the health Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
